Vermillion Wedding Film

Hi Friends,

I’ve got a new short film to share with you. Marc & Misty were lovely, and their wedding day was joyful and fun.

Shot in Vermillion, South Dakota on Panasonic GH2s and a GH3 using Panasonic, Olympus, SLR Magic, and Minolta lenses.

Hegg Memorial Wellness Center 30s Spot

I finally have had the chance to produce a television commercial! I’m pretty excited about this, as I hope it will be the gateway to a new set of opportunities for Paragon Videography.

Shot on a Panasonic GH3, using a few different lenses, including Panasonic 35-100 F2.8, Olympus 14-54 F2.8-3.5, Voigtlander 25 F.95, and Panasonic 7-14 F4.

It’s playing in Western Iowa on Premier Communications’ cable network, placed by ICAN (Iowa Cable Advertising Network). It will air during Hawkeye games on the Big Ten channel, as well as on A&E during Duck Dynasty, and on HGTV and other channels.

A Short Plate and a Short Film

So I recently discovered a little doodad that I’ve completely fallen in love with. It’s the Sliq DQ-10 quick release plate. It’s a tiny little quick release plate that is sturdy and well-built and fits on almost anything. I hate having to screw things into each other when I’m out working an event. I just don’t have the time, and I don’t want to drop any screws or nuts and lose them. That’s why I’m slowly buying up the world’s supply of DQ-10 plates (Don’t worry, I only have three right now). They’re around twenty bucks online, and I can see so many uses for them, to make my rigs more modular. I have them on my monitors right now, but I want to put them on my zoom audio recorder, my wireless microphone, really anything that you might otherwise use a hotshoe for. Why do I prefer this over a hotshoe? It clicks reliably into place and can hold more weight. What’s not to like?

Sliq DQ-10: The perfect tiny QR system!

On to subject number two. I’ve got a new short film to share. This one I shot down in Longview Texas, for my cousin. It was so much fun to be a part of the wedding. For this short I went back to a shorter format because it seems to flow really well at this length. Enjoy!

Lisa & Justin’s Wedding Highlights

It’s been too long since I’ve finished editing a wedding short. So happy with this one. I used my GH2s and also an AF100 for this wedding shoot. Overall, the image I got out of my GH2s was a lot nicer, but I think that’s because I had the AF100 set up wrong. Nevertheless, some color correction work brought the footage in line.

I shot this wedding in July, in the tiny town of Grenville, SD. A most fascinating town, it is slowly being swallowed by the shallow lakes that surround it. The waterscapes added an unusual twist to the wheat fields and Midwestern landscape. I’d love to go back up there some time to shoot photos for fun. Such an interesting place.

The couple was awesome. Justin & Lisa teach at a school in New York City, but decided to travel back to Lisa’s hometown for their wedding. They were nothing but joy and fun, the whole day. I really enjoyed the time I spent with them. They love to travel and have adventures, and that’s something we share so we had lots to talk about. All their friends and family that came to the wedding came ready to party and celebrate, and the whole wedding day just turned out to be so much fun.

I hope you like it.

Jenna & Dave’s Wedding Day

Hey friends, I really hope you like this one – I poured a lot into it!
