Paragon Videography will be live streaming this event!

Kate Brauning

Dear friends,

I’m so happy to be writing this post, and I’m even happier to be inviting you to my launch party. It’s a bit unusual, and a lot wonderful, and comes from a pretty awesome chain of events.

Back in 2012, Nikki Urang and I were both querying our first manuscripts and had shared work, and decided to become critique partners. We didn’t have agents, didn’t have any publishing credentials, and were terrified that no agent was going to want us and not entirely sure we could do this publishing thing. We queried, and revised, and

Lens Heaven

Lens Heaven

Just thought I’d make you all a little jealous with the lens I’m shooting a commercial with today. Canon 15.5-47 2.8 S L EF-mount with a cheap EF-M4/3 adapter. A match made in (slightly overweight) heaven. This would be a great lens to use with a Speed Booster, if only Metabones would release one for EF to M4/3. I just don’t trust the off-brands.

So I am NAB. Camera nerd heaven. I am going to try to blog about it eventually. It’s so huge.

Masters in Motion

Masters in motion was a long time ago now – I’ve been pretty busy ever since I got back, and I’ve been neglecting the blog. I have a short recap video of the event that I would like to share with you. Shot mostly on my GoPro, with some GH3 mixed in here and there.

I put this short together from footage I shot up in Alberta back in September. There’s no narrative – I didn’t try to tell the story of my trip. I just shot video wherever I went, and put it together here. Some of the footage really shines, I think. It’s shot pretty much entirely with my Olympus 14-54 and 50-200mm lenses. I colored it in Davinci Resolve Lite, with tweaks in Avid, and did stabilization and sharpening in After Effects. It’s a bit of a slow workflow, but the results are, I think worth it. Oh, and finishing touches with Magic Bullet Looks 2 (I really like adding a bit of diffusion). Let me know in the comments what you think of it!
