So the rumor (via EOSHD) is that Panasonic is canceling their AG-AF line of camcorders. The only camera in that line was the AF-100, the Micro Four Thirds camcorder that added professional camcorder features to the M4/3s sensor and lenses. Unfortunately, the AF-100 had a hard time competing at its price point with cameras with larger sensors and better image quality.
This means that sadly, there won’t be a successor to the camera that addresses its problems. Happily though, I bet this does mean that AF-100 prices will continue to drop – it’s a great camera, and perhaps I’ll be able to pick one up dirt cheap in a year or two.
